A roguelike deckbuilder about running an AI startup. Recruit teammates, build a deck and fight copycats, bugs and the cloud bill across three regions and their bosses.

No Moat is a roguelike deckbuilder about running an AI startup. You pick a founder, walk a branching map through three regions — The Garage, The Scale-Up and The Endgame — and fight your way past the things that actually kill a company: copycats, bug infestations, hostile takeovers and, at one point, the cloud bill. Between fights you recruit teammates, buy cards, visit the workshop and pick up treasure, in the pattern anyone who has played a modern deckbuilder will recognise immediately.

The three founders play differently rather than just having different stats. The Dropout attacks twice and builds Hype off the second hit. The Scientist applies Lag, pushing back whatever the enemy was about to do. The Big Tech Veteran shields the ally standing in front of it. Your run is built around whichever of those you started with.

Peter Yang published it through ChatGPT Sites and says he built it with GPT-6 Astra in about two hours, as one of four games in a tutorial he made. It is one of the more complete things in this collection for that amount of time: three full regions, boss fights, a card economy and a teammate roster.

How to play No Moat

  1. Pick one of the three founders on the title screen — the summary under each name is its whole gimmick, so read it before choosing.
  2. On the map, click the node you want next. Fights, teammates, treasure and the workshop are all marked; the boss sits at the end of each region.
  3. In combat, play cards from your hand against the enemies in front of you. Position matters — several effects care about who is at the front of a row.
  4. Recruit teammates when you can. The counter at the top right (Teammates 0/3) is the party you are building; an empty roster makes the later regions much harder.
  5. Use the Deck button any time to see what you have actually assembled, and Sound On if you want the audio.

Click Fullscreen above the game for the largest play area. If the game does not load, use Open in new tab to play it directly from our copy.

Why it's worth your time

It is a proper roguelike structure rather than a single battle screen: branching routes, a run economy, three regions and a boss at the end of each. Losing sends you back to the founder select, and the route you take is a real decision because you cannot visit every node.

The writing is the other half of the joke. The enemies are start-up hazards, the currency is Hype, and the status effect that delays an enemy's turn is called Lag. It never stops being a card game, but it is clearly written by someone who has worked in the industry.

Our copy is about 9 MB, most of it the illustrated backdrops. It offers a landscape mode on phones, so it is playable on a handset held sideways, though the card text is small.

How it was made and where it lives

Published through ChatGPT Sites (chatgpt.site) — the same hosting pipeline GPT-6 Astra uses to ship playable games straight from a prompt. The author publishes as petergyang. Original: https://no-moat.petergyang.chatgpt.site/. The Play button above runs our own unmodified copy, so the game keeps working here if that page goes down — which on free hosting usually has nothing to do with the author. Nothing about the game itself is changed, and the original stays linked from every page.

ChatGPT Sites is the hosting side of the workflow OpenAI describes for building games with GPT-6 Astra: the model writes the game, then publishes it to a public address in one step. That is why so many of the newest single-file browser games are appearing on chatgpt.site domains.

Here's No Moat, my roguelike deckbuilding game created with Astra in 2 hours.

Basically, you're an AI founder and your job is to recruit teammates, build your deck, and fight everything from copycats to bugs to massive cloud bills.

It has 3 full stages and boss battles too!

The other deckbuilder here is Balatro (fan web edition), which is about squeezing scoring combinations out of a poker hand rather than surviving a route. For a different kind of run-based strategy, Three Kingdoms Chronicles gives you one warlord's lifetime and one ending.

How long is a run?
A full run is three regions with a boss each. Expect a sitting rather than a session — it is designed to be finished or lost in one go.
Can I play it on a phone?
Yes, in landscape. The game offers a landscape mode itself; the card text is small on a small screen.
Is progress saved between runs?
No. It is a roguelike — each run starts from founder select.
Who made it?
Peter Yang (@petergyang), who published it through ChatGPT Sites and says it took about two hours with GPT-6 Astra.
Is No Moat free to play?
Yes. Everything on Floating Arcade is free, with no account, ads or downloads.
