A photo-noir detective game with three interrogation cases. Question suspects, compare their claims against hard evidence and work toward a full confession in the original English build.
KANOCHI is a photo-noir interrogation mystery by shields-pikes. Its title refers to a full confession: the goal is not merely to ask every question, but to confront contradictions and understand what makes each suspect talk.
This page runs a self-hosted snapshot of the creator's original English browser build, with local scripts and scene images. Creator source repository · Original announcement.
How to play KANOCHI
- Choose New game, read the first case file and select Begin the interrogation. A first-time help panel explains the four command groups.
- Question a suspect about a topic. Their answer becomes a claim you can compare with the known facts.
- Use Evidence to expose a contradiction. Tactics such as a desk lamp or tea affect the suspect's stress and rapport; the gauges help explain their reactions.
- Actions advance the interrogation clock. Read the statement record and manage your approach rather than repeatedly choosing questions at random.
- On phones, use the command tabs along the bottom to open topics and evidence. Tap dialogue or use the Skip button to advance a conversation.
Controls: Choose New game, read the case briefing and begin the interrogation. Question topics, compare claims with evidence and use tactics to affect stress and rapport. Click or tap to advance dialogue; Space/Enter advance and S skips a dialogue sequence. Number keys select command tabs.
Click Fullscreen above the game for the largest play area. If the game does not load, use Open in new tab to play it directly from our copy.
Why it's worth your time
The creator's English localization covers menus, case briefings, questions, dialogue and evidence, rather than translating only the catalog description.
The opening-case test selects a real question: the clock advances to 13:15, an answer is recorded as a claim and the game's action counter increases.
Scripts and all source images are bundled locally. The original Google Fonts stylesheet is omitted, so the hosted copy uses the page's fallback fonts. No full-case solution or complete campaign acceptance is claimed.
How it was made and where it lives

The original creator and repository remain linked; no live account or game backend is required for the opening case.
