A browser-based floor-plan editor for a three-bedroom, two-living-room, two-bath home. Draw and inspect the plan in 2D, furnish rooms, change materials and explore the result as a real-time 3D scene.
Floor Plan 3D is a hands-on home-layout editor built around one detailed three-bedroom, two-living-room, two-bath plan. Work from the 2D blueprint, place furniture and appliances, tune room materials and then switch to a real-time 3D scene to inspect the result.
The project already includes Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English interfaces. This site hosts a local copy of the GitHub Pages build, so the editor and its bundled assets continue to work without embedding the remote page.
How to play Floor Plan 3D
- Start in 2D Plan view. Pan and zoom the blueprint, then drag furniture from the library into a room.
- Select a room or furniture item to edit its dimensions, rotation, color or material. Turn on wall snapping when you want pieces aligned to the perimeter.
- Use Measure to draw temporary distance annotations, and use Demolish to remove non-bearing walls. Both layout edits and furniture changes can be undone.
- Switch to 3D Scene to orbit, pan and zoom around the furnished home. Select a room in the list to fly the camera there, or use Walk for first-person exploration.
- Export a PNG snapshot or the plan JSON from the menu. The current layout is stored in local browser storage, so reopening the local page preserves your work on the same browser.
Controls: Switch between 2D Plan and 3D Scene. Drag furniture from the library, move and rotate pieces, select rooms to edit materials, and use Measure or Demolish for layout work. In 3D, drag to orbit, scroll or pinch to zoom, and choose Walk for first-person navigation. Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z undo and redo.
Click Fullscreen above the game for the largest play area. If the game does not load, use Open in new tab to play it directly from our copy.
Why it's worth your time
The editor treats the plan as a measured space rather than a loose drawing: walls, openings, room polygons and furniture dimensions are represented in millimetres, with a visible scale bar and dimension chains.
The 3D view is more than a preview. Materials, room labels, ceiling cut height and furniture visibility can be adjusted, and the walk mode gives the plan a small first-person inspection layer.
The source page already exposes an English mode alongside Simplified and Traditional Chinese. The local copy keeps that switcher and its built-in translations instead of replacing the original interface with a partial translation.
How it was made and where it lives
Published on GitHub Pages from a public repository. The author publishes as wy51ai. Original: https://wy51ai.github.io/floorplan-3d/. The Play button opens a self-hosted local copy of the GitHub Pages project. Its built-in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English language switcher is preserved, with the original repository linked for attribution.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this a conventional game?
- No. It is an interactive floor-plan and interior-design tool with 2D editing, 3D inspection and first-person walk mode, so it is listed as a creative simulation rather than a score-based game.
- How do I add furniture?
- Open the furniture library, then drag an item onto the 2D plan. Select it to move, rotate, resize or recolor it; wall snapping can help with alignment.
- Can I use it on a phone or tablet?
- Yes. The page has touch-oriented controls, responsive drawers and an on-screen joystick for 3D walk mode. A larger screen is more comfortable for detailed layout work.
- Does it have English?
- Yes. Use the language buttons in the top bar to choose Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese or English.
- Where is the original project?
- The source is the wy51ai/floorplan-3d GitHub repository, published at wy51ai.github.io/floorplan-3d/. The local listing keeps that link for attribution and reference.
- Where is my plan saved?
- The editor saves the current layout in local browser storage. Export the plan JSON when you need a portable copy or want to back it up outside the browser.
- Is Floor Plan 3D free to play?
- Free to use in the browser with no account or download. Layout changes are saved locally in the browser.
- Can I embed this game on my own website?
- Yes — copy the snippet below. The embedded player links back here, which is how we ask to be credited.
