Eight named riders lap an eight-lap dirt circuit on their own; your job is to set them up beforehand and watch, tune and interfere while it plays out. That framing matters more than it might sound: there is no throttle or lean control anywhere in the page, on desktop or phone — every rider, including the one pinned to the sidebar (#07 REX), is driven by the same AI. The game's own in-page help says as much in its opening line: "Eight riders. Eight laps. You run the team and shape the park."

The one part of the tweet thread we went in most skeptical of — "road rash mode," giving riders weapons — turned out to be real and, if anything, undersold. Toggling it on arms all eight riders for "autonomous combat": the game's help panel spells out an exact loadout of 6 grenades, 6 shield charges, 4 tack drops (tire punctures) and 4 catch-up boosts per rider, plus a sidearm with 72 rounds across six magazines and a melee weapon — a pipe, baseball bat, barbed-wire club, sword or chainsaw — that riders swing at close range as they pass. The tweet's own list ("swords, bats, guns, grenades") is accurate as far as it goes; it just isn't the whole roster.
How to play Mini Moto
- There's nothing to start — a race is already running on load. Drag anywhere on the park to orbit the camera, and scroll to zoom; the eye-shaped buttons switch between an automatic pack camera and a crossed-swords "highest-action" camera that hunts for overtakes, jumps and combat.
- Open the roster button (the people icon) to see all eight riders and click one to open its dossier. Each rider has seven skills — Launch, Top speed, Braking, Cornering, Racecraft, Composure, Endurance — that share a fixed pool (490 points, a 70-point average): raising one with Edit rider pulls points from the others, so a rider is reshaped, not simply buffed. The same panel sets a race personality (Late-brake attacker, Momentum rider, Counterpuncher, Tactical defender), a bike's gearing (Torque / Overdrive / Factory), and lets you call a pit stop, tell a rider to push, conserve or hold pace, or generate a fresh balanced replacement.
- Flip the ROAD RASH MODE switch at any time to arm every rider for combat — it restarts the race with a fresh grid draw. Each rider carries grenades, a personal shield, tire-puncturing tacks, a speed boost and a melee weapon, and fights entirely on its own; there's no weapon to aim yourself.
- Switch to SCULPT in the terrain toolbar, then click the track surface to raise it (Shift-click to lower). DIRT, MUD and GRAVEL repaint the surface under the cursor with a different grip character; JUMP drops in a takeoff ramp and LOOP adds a stunt loop. Undo reverses your last edit, and Save keeps your park layout in this browser for next time.
- Keyboard shortcuts exist for the mouse-driven interface: Space pauses the race, F snaps the camera to whichever rider you last opened, and Escape backs out to the park-overview Watch camera.
Controls: Drag to orbit the park and scroll to zoom. Pick a terrain tool, then click the track to sculpt it (Shift-click to lower instead of raise). Space pauses the race, F toggles the rider-follow camera, and Escape returns to the Watch view. Why it's worth your time
The "diorama" in the tweet is the right word for the format: this is closer to a model railway you arrange and watch than a racing game you play. There's real strategy in it anyway — rider skill trade-offs, pace calls, pit-stop timing, and now an entire combat layer — it's just strategy you execute between and around laps, never mid-corner.
The physics claims from the author's companion post (a shared 180 kg rider-and-bike body, spring-and-damper suspension, surface-dependent tire grip, weight transfer) aren't things we could verify from outside the code — we can't inspect the simulation's equations, only what the UI exposes. What we can confirm: the rider profile panel has a real "tune tires and suspension" control and per-surface grip is a real, user-facing mechanic (the DIRT/MUD/GRAVEL sculpting tools exist specifically to change it), so the physics model the author describes is at least consistent with what's on screen, even if we're taking the internals on his word.
One specific claim doesn't hold up against the game's own documentation. The author's post says AI riders get help from "bounded edge correction and midair steering" to stay on course "without cutting speed." The in-game help panel says the opposite for jumps: "Jump trajectories have no midair steering or edge correction — riders must set up their line on the ground." Riders that do run off the track are shown recovering after a fixed penalty ("MILO: ran off the course. Back on track in 2.6s"), which may be the mechanic the tweet was describing loosely, but it's a timed penalty, not the in-air correction described.
Road Rash Mode is genuinely a second game bolted onto the first, not a cosmetic toggle: shields block ranged attacks for 3 seconds with a 6-second cooldown but explicitly don't block melee, tacks or a fall off the track; destroyed bikes respawn after 2.6 seconds under a brief shield, keeping whatever inventory they had left. We watched it run and saw the combat log narrate it live — riders "reading the grenade," going "shield up · bracing for blast," and "leading the throw" on a rival.
The mirror is light for a 3D scene: about 26 MB, almost all of it three GLB models (a bike, a pine tree, the pit-station building) and two ground textures. Everything else — the park's dirt track, the tire barriers, the dust clouds, the shield-and-blast combat effects — is built and animated in code rather than loaded as separate assets, which also explains why nothing here needed this site's usual asset-sweeping tricks for runtime-templated URLs.
