An unofficial take on Oxygen Not Included in one HTML file. Dig out an asteroid, keep three duplicants breathing, and watch oxygen, food and power while the colony grows.

Hypoxia · Little Planet (缺氧 · 小小星球) is an unofficial browser take on the underground-colony survival genre — the game it names on its own title screen is Oxygen Not Included. Three duplicants land on a small asteroid, and you dig out the space they will live in while keeping oxygen quality, food reserves and power from running out.

It fits in one HTML file, runs offline once loaded, and autosaves to your browser. Cycles pass as day and night; the colony's stress and morale are tracked alongside the resources, and a five-step pioneer programme gives an early run some shape.

How to play Hypoxia · Little Planet

  1. Press space to unpause — the game starts paused, which is the right way round for a colony sim.
  2. Keyboard shortcuts do most of the work: V to dig, G to build, B to demolish, X to cancel, C for the overlay, and space to pause. 1×, 2× and 3× change the game speed.
  3. Select a building, then click a tile in the world to place it. Everything you build adds load somewhere.
  4. Pan with WASD, zoom with the wheel, drag with the right mouse button.
  5. Watch the three bars at the top — oxygen quality, food in kilocalories, power reserve. The colony log and the resource inventory tell you which one is about to become the problem.

Controls: Mouse to place and dig, with keyboard shortcuts: V dig, G build, B demolish, X cancel, space to pause.

Why it's worth your time

The remarkable thing is the size. This is a tile-based colony simulation with digging, building, resource flows, a day cycle, stress and morale, autosave and an ecology overlay, and the whole thing is a single 312 KB HTML file. Most games in this collection that are anywhere near this systemic are tens of megabytes.

The interface is entirely in Chinese and it needs a modern browser with Canvas — it says so on screen if yours will not do. It is a mouse-and-keyboard game; the tile grid is too dense for a phone.

How it was made and where it lives

Hosted on the author's own page. The author publishes as dudu. Original: https://hypoxia-6tu.pages.dev/. The Play button above runs our own unmodified copy, so the game keeps working here if that page goes down — which on free hosting usually has nothing to do with the author. Nothing about the game itself is changed, and the original stays linked from every page.

Eternal Wilderness is the other survival game here and takes the opposite approach — one character above ground rather than a colony below it. For system-balancing without the survival pressure, Last Beacon is about a power grid.
