A 3v3 capture-the-flag game where Blue Critters and Red Rascals race through a backyard arena, use playful weapons and tools, and fight to score three flag captures first.
Backyard Rascals is a 3v3 capture-the-flag fight between two teams of backyard critters. Blue Critters choose from a fox, otter or badger; Red Rascals bring a raccoon, opossum or squirrel. The first team to capture the enemy flag three times wins.
Self-hosting was attempted first. The Wavedash build protects its 3D asset URLs behind authorization, so the captured files are not a complete playable copy. This catalogue therefore uses the official Wavedash player as a clearly labeled remote fallback rather than shipping a broken mirror.
How to play Backyard Rascals
- Choose a Blue Critter or Red Rascal, then enter the backyard arena with your team and AI bots or a 3v3 Wavedash Lobby.
- Push into the other team's fort, grab its flag and carry it back to your own fort. Protect your carrier and interrupt the other team's return.
- Use the wooden melee stick at close range, the plunger bow and arrow for distance, and the suds bomb to disrupt a crowded fight.
- Score three captures before the opposing team. The official Wavedash player supplies the game runtime and any live lobby behavior.
Controls: Use WASD to move, mouse click for the listed action or weapon, and touch controls where the Wavedash player provides them. Grab the enemy flag and return it to your fort.
Why it's worth your time
The teams turn familiar backyard animals into readable 3D roles: Blue Critters are fox, otter and badger, while Red Rascals are raccoon, opossum and squirrel.
This page embeds the official Wavedash player only as a fallback. It does not claim that the protected game build or its 3D assets are self-hosted locally.
The original project credits Chongdashu and is built with the VibeGameDev / Wavedash toolchain.
How it was made and where it lives
Published on Wavedash, a browser-game platform that serves the game only through its own player. The author publishes as Chongdashu (@chongdashu). Original: https://backyard-rascals.vercel.app/. We attempted to capture the game for self-hosting, but the protected Wavedash asset URLs answer 401 Unauthorized outside the player session. The incomplete capture is deliberately not used because it would load without the required 3D resources. The official Wavedash player is embedded as a fallback so the game remains playable while preserving the original runtime and attribution.
