Draw a creature with your finger or mouse, then watch it run according to its shape across a straight track, obstacle course, hill or puddle course. Race solo, challenge two friends or join a room.

Rakugaki Undoukai (らくがき運動会, “Doodle Sports Day”) is a drawing game disguised as a track meet. Draw one creature with a finger, mouse or stylus, and the game's simulation turns the outline into a runner: a long body, many legs, a round shape and other quirks affect how it handles the course.

The original Japanese page offers solo races, three-person challenge links, simultaneous rooms, a public doodle gallery, albums and rankings. This listing translates the visible menus and rules into English for convenience; it is an unofficial translation, and the original page remains the source for the live game and its online features.

How to play Rakugaki Undoukai · Doodle Sports Day

  1. Choose Solo or the three-player battle mode on the title screen. In solo play you race against five CPU doodles; in a challenge or room, up to three people draw creatures for the same race, with CPU runners filling empty places when needed.
  2. Draw one creature in the square canvas. Pick a colour, switch between thick and thin lines, undo a stroke or clear the canvas. Add a name if you want, then press the button translated here as “Run with this one!”.
  3. Choose a course before the race: Straight Race is a simple 100-metre run; Obstacle Race adds hurdles, a crawl-under net and a balance beam; Hill climbs and descends; Puddle Course sends the runners splashing through water.
  4. The game analyses the drawing's body, legs, height, width and other features before simulating the race. The fastest-looking drawing is not guaranteed to win every course: each course rewards a different shape and movement profile.
  5. In three-player mode, use a challenge link to pass the drawing to two friends at different times, or create/join a room to draw together. The gallery lets you race against other players' public doodles, while the album stores your own creatures and results.

Controls: Draw one creature on the canvas, name it if you like, choose a course and start the race. Use the drawing tools to pick a colour, change line width, undo or clear. In the race, cheer with the on-screen button; the runner's performance is simulated from the drawing's shape.

Why it's worth your time

The drawing is not just a costume. The simulation extracts features from the stroke outline, including body proportions and leg-like structures, then uses them to determine how the creature runs and handles terrain.

The four courses make the same drawing feel different: hurdles reward jumping shapes, the net and beam change the obstacle race, the hill tests climbing and the puddle course changes movement through water.

The three-player challenge link is asynchronous: one person draws, passes the link, the second adds a creature and passes it on, and the third completes the race. A room supports people drawing at the same time.

The game credits its music, sound effects and generated art on the title screen and identifies the creator in its share text as @apkderete.
